Resident Benefits
Phoebe Family Medicine Residents receive a competitive salary and benefits package and is one of the best in the state.

Annual Resident Salary:

  • PGY-1 - $49,000
  • PGY-2 - $50,000
  • PGY-3 - $51,000
  • $2,000 moving allowance
  • $4,500 education fund ($1500 annually) for books and CME - this includes PGY-1 residents
  • $1, 300 ABFM Board certification paid by program
  • USMLE Step 3 fee paid by program
  • Georgia State License fee paid by program
  • Training permits and renewals paid by program
  • State and Federal DEA registration/license fee paid by program
  • Vacation - 28 days leave annually // maternity and paternity leave also available
  • Five days CME annually (PGY1, PGY2, and PGY3)
  • Certification fees paid by program (Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Life Support, and Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • Professional liability, disability, and life insurance provided

An added bonus is the Media Day event presenting the new interns. During this ceremony each new resident is presented with a gift of a large piece of luggage by The Albany Chamber of Commerce. Call Frequency

If rotation requires in-hospital night call, the average annual in-hospital night call frequency is as follows:
Postgraduate year 1 - 1:4
Postgraduate year 2 - 1:6
Postgraduate year 3 - 1:6
